“Shopping” means the same thing in English but the grammar is slightly different.
In English, you would say “I am shopping,” but you can’t say that in French. Instead, you would say “Je fais du shopping,” which literally translates as “I am doing shopping.”
Here are a few examples to help you understand situations where you would use “shopping” and the differences with English:
Camille adore faire du shopping (Camille loves shopping. Literal translation: Camille loves doing shopping.)
Elle fait du shopping pour “Black Friday” (She is shopping for “Black Friday.” Literal translation: She isdoing shopping for “Black Friday.”)
