In French, we say “studio de yoga” (yoga studio) and we call the yoga teacher “prof de yoga.”
Marcus est un bon prof de yoga. – Marcus is a good yoga teacher.
Le studio de yoga est à Soho. – The yoga studio is in Soho.
Je fais du yoga tous les dimanches. – I do yoga every Sunday.
Nous faisons du yoga à la maison. – We do yoga at home.
The words “postures” and “poses” have the same meaning in English and French.
Quelques postures de yoga (a few yoga postures):
La pose de l’enfant: child pose
La posture du guerrier un / deux: warrior one / two posture
La posture du triangle: triangle pose
La posture du chien tête en bas: down dog posture ( literally: posture of the dog head down)
La pose de l’enfant est relaxante. – Child’s pose is relaxing.
La posture du triangle permet de t’étirer: Triangle pose allows you to stretch.
